The 2024 Six Famous Mountains Climbing Tournament was held at Bamian Mountain of Liye Town, Longshan County, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture on the morning of August 10. More than 1,200 athletes from all over the country participated in the competition.
Xu Yahong, head of the Yiyang Marathon Sports Association, participated in this competition for the fifth time this year, together with more than 90 runners. “With beautiful sunrise, sunset, a sea of clouds, and cool climate, Bamian Mountain is suitable for a summer escape. In the past two years, I have participated in the Bamian Mountain competitions to relax myself,” she said.
Bamian Mountain is located in Liye Town of Longshan County, with an average altitude of 1,200 meters. It has 50,000 mu (about 3333.33 hectares) of natural grassland and is a popular destination for leisure sightseeing, summer vacation, secret exploration, as well as clouds and stars appreciation.
The mountaineering competition has been held for six consecutive sessions at the Bamian Mountain, attracting a large number of outdoor sports enthusiasts to enjoy the charm of sports and nature, promoting the high-quality integrated development of sports and tourism in Longshan.
